Terms of Service

By using Cosign (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. What Cosign is

Cosign is an entertainment service that scores and ranks how early you listened to artists who later grew, based on listening history you upload and (optionally) your connected Spotify account. Scores are for fun and are not a statement of fact about you or any artist.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by local law) to use Cosign.

3. Your account and content

You’re responsible for activity under your account and for the data you upload.
You represent that the listening history you upload is your own and that you have the right to upload it.
You grant us a limited license to process your uploaded and connected data solely to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You choose a public handle; don’t impersonate others or use handles that are unlawful or infringing.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t:

Upload falsified, tampered, or fabricated listening data, or otherwise try to game the leaderboard. (We flag manipulated uploads off the ranked board.)
Scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service.
Use the Service to violate any law or any third party’s rights, including Spotify’s terms.

5. Spotify

Cosign uses the Spotify Platform but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify. Your use of Spotify features is also subject to Spotify’s own terms and privacy policy. Spotify content (artist names, images) belongs to Spotify and its licensors.

6. Intellectual property

The Cosign name, design, and software are ours. These Terms don’t grant you rights to them beyond using the Service as intended.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that scores are accurate, that the Service will be available or error-free, or that data will be preserved. Scores are for entertainment only.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cosign and its operators won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. We’ll update the date above.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Cook County (Chicago), Illinois.
